Frequently Asked Questions
Commonly asked questions about our services

What is a Shelfer?

A Shelfer is simply a member of our community! Whether they have visited our site, made an account, read one of our articles, follow along on social media, or play DIY Games!

What are the game types?

The game types are simply categories for the games. Because we have such a wide variety of games, we came up with 5 categories we think accurately separates them all. (Strategy, Speed, Wisdom, Dynamic, Artistry)

What kind of games can I share?

Our site offers “DIY” games. So games using typical household items, such as bowls, cups, dice, cards, etc. can all be shared!

What kind of games can I not share?

Manufactured games such as Monopoly, Catan, etc. will not be added. Games relating to violence or alcohol consumption are also not accepted.

Do I have to create my own game in order to share?

Nope! Whether you have played a game or made it on your own, all are accepted! You get recognition for sharing it with our community!

What do I get if my game gets added to the site?

If your game submission gets added to our community, you get your name added to the website, a LowerShelf Games sticker, and a certificate of authenticity.

How do I find new games?

LowerShelf’s gamebase has filtering options so you can find a game perfect for your environment! Filter by players, type of game, materials, and even country!
